Hi 6th graders! :)

Thanks for bringing in cans for the NJHS Canned Food Drive! We are doing amazing! Mr. Robinson’s advisory is in the lead! Mrs. Shivanonda’s Advisory~ We need to step it up! Let me see your cans!!

Monday~ Using Spelling book pg. 33, choose 10 words to define, and make an association to each one; Start new Reading Log; Daybook pgs 58 and 59- complete all response notes and activities in the book

Tuesday~ Write a news article using at least 10 spelling words; Predict & Connect, then read & clarify pgs. 255-260 in Social Studies book

Wednesday~ Write a sentence for each spelling word; Daybook pgs. 60-63, complete all response notes and activities; Write 1 question about S.S. reading from last night to share with the class

Thursday~ Make any choice to do with Spelling Words; Preview and connect, then read pgs. 261-265 in SS book & clarify. Then complete Roman Empire Practice pg.

Hi 6th graders! :)

This week is a short week with Wednesday being a day off for Veteran’s Day! Then Thursday morning we will have an assembly and the BMX show for our first fundraiser of the year. Make sure you’re here so you don’t miss out!!

** Mr. Robinson is out sick this week. We’re hopeful that he’ll return on Thursday. If you have any questions for him, try to hold onto them until Thursday!

Welcome to the last week before our 1st break!

Homework:

Reply to the post Ancient Civilizations by Friday 9/25

Create your own story! It should be long enough that your story has a beginning and a great ending. You need to use at least 3 types of figurative language in your story (similes, metaphors, alliteration, onomatopoeia, personification, etc.) Due Friday

Read at least twice for at least 30 minutes each. Write a 20 word summary for each reading session. Turn it in on Friday

It’s Benchmark testing this week! So I hope you’ll get a lot of rest with not too much homework! :)

The only homework for this week is to start on a new Reading Log (due Monday 9/14) and for Social Studies I’d like you to research the Chinese invention for your dynasty that I will give you on Tuesday. You will research it a little bit more and create a poster with information and pictures to share. This will be due Friday 9/11!

No spelling for this week!!

This past week I didn’t follow the homework that was on the blog. I’m sorry for the confusion! I wanted to allow the students to have more time to focus on their fairytales! We will resume homework as usual next week!
